Does anyone TNR ? I have a mamma and 3 kittens that need spade before they have more kittens that will have kittens ....I feed about 13 ferals around my house...Ive TNRd all but the mamma and her kittens....My TNR lady hasnt returned my calls in 2 weeks ...Im worried she went off the deep end w/ the stress of her work ....I will gladly PAY anyone who can TNR!! IF I can just get them spade my colony will be done ...I can barely afford all the food I buy weekly for them so when I saw the 3 kittens I wanted to cry...and to break my heart more , one kitten has bum legs...Lil Limpy ! If anyone knows anyone please ! I will PAY

Please pay special attention where Adrien says REGULAR Dawn dish liquid, this means UNSCENTED. The odor of scented Dawn can kill them and WILL kill a baby bird.

Amen... don't use those suckers on ANY animal. They are deadly... and a tiny kitten ... it's not ok to use the newer flea treatments... I think ONE is .... can't remember which... but I think the kit has to be at least 6 weeks old.... Best to check with a vet on that one!!! Not remembering clearly.

never get the canned formula it goes bad rather quicky....the powder that you mix is much better and cheaper..

also make sure that if you have a cat at home that they're up to date on their vaccines as some stray cats may carry some harmful diseases, such as panleukopenia or leptospirosis which both can be fetal.

Gosh....reading this I am so glad my friend and I were so unaware of the problems raising newborns. We'd have been worried sick! When my flat mates so called spayed rescue cat died shortly after giving birth to four kittens , we raised them ourselves. When old enough, we rehomed two to another friend and kept two and they were all lovely, healthy kittens. More down to good luck !

I have had to take feral kittens in much earlier. The poor kittens had worms so bad, that I had to remove them from the mom at less than 4 weeks and get them wormed and weaned. Even then one did not make it.

Also, NEVER use a flea collar on a kitten! Those are too potent for kittens under at least 6 months, & will poison them. Better flea control exists, anyway--ask your vet.

My methods work well, but not everyone is set up for it as I am. One thing, though--if you can get a pair of hemostats, those little needle-nosed blood clamps doctors use to clamp off veins, gently use them while the kitten is wrapped in a fluffy towel to dry after its bath. You just see a flea, grab it with the hemostats & WAFFLE that little vampire. Very likely your kitten will go to sleep while the towel wicks away all the moisture. It seems to help socialize them, as well. Keep replacing the warm towels as they become damp. I've never needed more than three--even on a larger cat.

By the way, medical supply places have the hemostats, or you could order one online.

Also note that if the kitten(s) have fleas, you cannot use any Rx or over-the-counter flea treatment on them. They can be bathed in warm water using regular Dawn dish liquid and then combed with a flea comb. Sometimes the fleas have to be picked off manually. And keep the babies WARM while you are doing this!! They cannot regular their own body temps very well. Also, if a stimulated kitten cannot poop ( a friend had one like this), it may need a warm water enema. Ask your vet how to go about doing that.

I can personally attest to the fact David Glicksman is a very dedicated worker, who does not seek the spotlight. Herb Higgins is totally off base about David. He has no clue as to how hard David works and how much he gives.
